Author Caroline Ashleigh launches the release of her new book "Warman's Shoes Field Guide" on April 17-18 2010, at the Modern Vintage Chicago Spring Clothing and Jewelery Expo in Chicago

This photo appeared in a 1946 issue of Life Magazine of a little boy by the name of Werfel, a six year old orphan, who had just received a new pair of shoes from the American Red Cross. To continue this tradition, the author, Caroline Ashleigh, has established the "Soleful Exchange*," to provide shoes to the homeless in major urban cities throughout the United States.
